Black Eyed Susan is one of the restaurants we would make a point to visit whenever we vacation in Nantucket. They have a BYOB policy, they do not accept credit cards and they have a different reservation policy from other restaurants. If you want to get your name on their list, you have to go there in the morning and have your name listed or you can line up before their first seating and have your name in their 6 or 9 seating. You might think it’s too much trouble for a restaurant, but believe me, it is all worth it. You will love everything on their menu down to the last bite. It is also great just to sit at their dinner style bar and wonder how the chef manages to cook everything at once. Trust me, you will definitely be impressed. Then if you want a different breakfast than the regular B&B breakfast, you might want to try the Black-Eyed Susan’s great breakfast, which is the best breakfast you can get in Nantucket. You won’t have to spend much since their prices are quite reasonable.

I love this restaurant. The food is excellent. You can watch the food being made while you wait.It gets pretty hot inside in the summer, but if you have more than 2 people and are willing to wait you can ask for an outside table, there are only two outside tables so the wait might be pretty long. July and August expect to wait for up to an hour to be seated for breakfast! At night you can bring your own alcohol and that definitely cuts the cost of dining and makes a really good value!!!
